OpenAI’s ChatGPT Release Notes dated October 27, 2026 list iCloud Mail and Calendar plugins in ChatGPT. iCloud users can connect Mail and Calendar to find emails, catch up on the inbox, check the schedule, and update calendar events. This is a Help Center–documented plugin addition under that October 27 entry—not a same-day launch story.
Separate Mail and Calendar plugins
OpenAI’s Connected apps Help article is explicit: iCloud Mail and iCloud Calendar are separate plugins. Both include read-only contact lookup. Standalone Contacts and Reminders plugins are outside this launch—installing Mail or Calendar does not equal a standalone Contacts or Reminders product.
Help also says the plugins are rolling out globally to all ChatGPT plans on web, desktop, and iOS, subject to workspace app controls. Release Notes match that surface list: available to all ChatGPT plans on the web, desktop app, and iOS.

Apple app-specific password and separate connections
Both plugins use an Apple app-specific password. Help says the connection form takes that password—not a regular Apple password, and not a password pasted into the conversation. App-specific passwords are created through Apple’s own flow.
Account fields differ by plugin:
- Mail: enter an iCloud Mail address ending in @icloud.com, @me.com, or @mac.com.
- Calendar: enter the primary Apple Account email, which may differ from the Mail address.
Mail and Calendar need separate connections for both services. A plugin installation does not authorize the other service. Reconnecting one connection does not update the other. Disconnecting in ChatGPT also does not revoke the app-specific password at Apple; that revocation stays in Apple’s controls.
Setup lives under Settings > Plugins, then the Mail or Calendar plugin connection flow. ChatGPT may still ask for approval before reading information or completing a supported action, and workspace admins can constrain apps.
What Help covers—and what it leaves open
Release Notes and Connected apps describe finding emails, catching up on the inbox, checking the schedule, and updating calendar events, plus read-only contact lookup inside these two plugins. Live connection flows, action prompts, and workspace restrictions can differ by account. Details follow OpenAI Help Center. For reference only.
