Delta’s blog (Franciska Dethlefsen, October 27, 2026) titled “Claude Code is now multiplayer” says Claude Code work can be shared with a teammate who joins from their own Claude Code session. The same day, @zeddotdev posted on X (2115135016233509239; created_at 2026-10-27T17:34:19Z (2026-10-28 01:34 Asia/Shanghai)). This is a Delta / Zed-side capability delivered through Delta’s stack—not an Anthropic official Claude Code update. Related reading: Claude Code or Codex? How Their Prices and Usage Limits Compare.
Beta: Delta CLI + Claude Code plugin
The feature is available in beta through the Delta CLI and Delta’s Claude Code plugin.
How to share and join
In Claude Code, /delta share yields a link for a teammate. The teammate runs /delta join (with that link) in their own Claude Code session to join the shared thread.
What is shared—and what stays separate
The plugin shares the Claude Code conversation and unfinished code changes / worktree through Delta. The CLI keeps files synchronized across machines. Each person still uses their own Claude session, with the shared conversation available as context. Collaboration scenarios (per the blog)
Delta’s post describes handing over a task before it is ready for a PR—with context a diff alone would not give—and picking up a thread across time zones. Teams that already use Delta can also bring colleagues who stay in Claude Code into the same thread while others remain in Delta. Those are the blog’s framing points; they have not been measured on this site.
More harnesses, starting with Pi; plugin is open source
Delta says it is building support for more harnesses, starting with Pi, and welcomes community help. The Claude Code plugin is open source and serves as a reference implementation; Delta points to its Build your own plugin guide. To start sharing Claude Code sessions, install the Delta CLI and the Claude Code plugin (follow Delta’s install guidance on the blog / site).
