Cursor is sold as part of The X Subscription—one subscription that covers Grok, Cursor, and X. This guide is the seat-and-usage map for Cursor on that subscription as of October 2026: what each individual and Teams tier costs, what the weekly Cursor-model pool covers, how third-party models are billed from prepaid credit, where the Cursor Token Rate applies, and how legacy plans still work. Dollar figures below follow Cursor’s Models & Pricing and Team pricing docs (ex-tax unless noted). Absolute weekly-pool dollars and request counts are not published as fixed public numbers on those pages—check the live Usage UI for the signed-in account. For reference only; this site has not reconciled a live bill line by line.

Free$0—LimitedNot available
Plus$8$80BaseNot available

Super$100$1,000About 15× PlusAPI list price, from prepaid credit
Ultra$200$2,000About 50× PlusAPI list price, from prepaid credit

Prices exclude tax. Annual billing is listed at $80 for Plus, $300 for Premium, $1,000 for Super, and $2,000 for Ultra.

Free covers Agent and Chat with limited usage.

Plus is Cursor’s own models only—Grok 4.7, Grok 4.6, Grok 4.5, and Composer 2.5—at fixed settings: Fast is off, effort is medium, and Grok 4.7 uses the 256k context window. Plus also includes Grok Chat, Voice, Imagine, Build, and Grok API access. It does not include Auto, Cloud Agents, Automations, Bugbot, Origin, third-party models, or personally owned API keys.

Premium includes everything in Plus at about 4× the Plus usage pool, and adds Cloud Agents and Automations, code hosting on Origin, code review with Bugbot, third-party models at API list price from prepaid credit, and Grok Bot.

Super matches Premium feature scope with about 15× Plus usage and priority model access at peak times.

Ultra matches Super with about 50× Plus usage and earliest access to new products and models.

Cursor’s public feature comparison on cursor.com/pricing is the place for Grok and X benefits that sit beside these Cursor seat rows. This article stays on seat price, weekly pool logic, prepaid credit, Teams CTR, and legacy boundaries.

The weekly Cursor-model pool

Every paid plan includes one weekly pool of usage for Cursor models. That pool covers Grok 4.7, Grok 4.6, Grok 4.5, and Composer 2.5 only. It is shared across Agent in the editor, the CLI, Cloud Agents, Grok Bot, and the Grok apps on the same subscription. Different models draw at different rates. Remaining usage and the next reset date show in editor settings and under Usage at grok.com/dashboard.

The pool refreshes weekly, so one heavy day does not wipe a whole calendar month of included Cursor-model work. Unused included usage does not roll over into the next week. The separate Grok API is billed on its own and does not draw from this weekly pool.

When the weekly pool is empty, Cursor lists three paths that keep quality and speed unchanged: wait for the weekly reset, keep working from prepaid credit at the same per-model rates, or upgrade to a larger weekly pool. Requests are not downgraded in quality or speed after the included pool is exhausted.

Third-party models and prepaid credit

Third-party models (Claude, GPT, Gemini, and other provider rows on the Models & Pricing table) are not part of the weekly Cursor-model pool.

Plus and Free cannot use third-party models in Cursor.

Premium and above bill third-party usage at the model’s API list price from the first request, paid from prepaid credit. The same prepaid balance also pays for Cursor-model usage after the weekly pool is gone, at the Cursor-model rates on the docs table.

Top-ups add prepaid credit on demand; Auto Top-up can refill when the balance drops below a set threshold. A monthly additional-usage limit can cap paid extra usage regardless of how much credit remains on the balance. Credit, Auto Top-up, and the cap are managed under Additional usage credits at grok.com/dashboard/billing. Prepaid credit does not refresh with the weekly pool. On the Usage and limits help page, each top-up stays available until it is used or until it expires—currently about 365 days after purchase (per the live billing page).

Representative rates beyond the pool (USD / 1M tokens)

These rows matter when buying additional Cursor-model usage or when Premium+ prepaid credit pays for overage. Standard Grok 4.7 / 4.6 / 4.5 list about $2 input / $0.5 cache read / $6 output; Composer 2.5 about $0.5 / $0.2 / $2.5. Fast and long-context multipliers for Grok 4.7 are on the live Models & Pricing table (for example Fast at about 2×, long context above 256k at about 2×, Fast+long at about 3× on the documented cells).

Third-party examples on the same docs table include Claude Opus 5.5 at about $4 / $0.2 / $20 and Claude Sonnet 5.5 at about $2 / $0.1 / $10 (input / cache read / output). This guide is not a full third-party price wall. Model IDs on Cursor’s live table apply when estimating a bill. For OpenAI API list prices outside Cursor’s seat meter, see OpenAI API Pricing (October 2026).

Teams and Enterprise seats

Teams is priced per seat. Each member gets a Premium, Super, or Ultra seat at the same price and weekly usage as the matching individual plan: $30 / $100 / $200 per seat per month. Seat tiers can be mixed on one team (for example three Premium seats and one Super seat). Plus is not available for Teams. Enterprise is custom, with pooled usage, invoicing, SCIM, and advanced security controls among the listed upgrades.

Team plans add centralized billing and administration, a team marketplace for internal rules, skills, and plugins, usage analytics, team-wide privacy mode enforcement, custom Chat data retention, and SAML/OIDC SSO. Free seats ($0) exist for Members or Admins with no team usage allowance—those members draw from their own personal plan or a small free allowance.

Admins buy a shared prepaid balance for the whole team and set one monthly additional-usage limit. Additional usage is any third-party model usage plus any Cursor-model usage after a seat’s weekly pool runs out. Billing is per active paid seat; mid-cycle adds are pro-rated, upgrades apply immediately with a pro-rated difference, and downgrades apply at period end.

Cursor Token Rate (Teams / Enterprise only)

On Teams and Enterprise, eligible third-party model requests include a Cursor Token Rate of $0.25 per million tokens, on top of the model’s API list price. The rate applies to input, output, and cached tokens, including when Cursor Router (Balance or Intelligence) routes to an eligible third-party model, and it also applies to BYOK on those plans.

Individual plans do not pay the Cursor Token Rate.

The rate does not apply to Cursor models (including Grok and Composer) or to Cost-mode requests. Cursor also lists third-party exemptions on Models & Pricing—examples include Claude Haiku 5.5, several Gemini Flash / Flash Lite rows, and GPT Mini / Nano / Luna-class IDs. That exemption list is live documentation, not a memorized roster.

Auto modes and Cursor Router

Cost mode (classic Auto) bills as a Cursor-model request and draws from the weekly pool whichever model serves the turn. Individual plans have Cost mode only.

On Teams and Enterprise with Cursor Router on, Balance and Intelligence bill at the routed model’s list price: a route to a Cursor model draws from the weekly pool; a route to a third-party model is third-party usage from prepaid credit, and eligible third-party routes also incur the Cursor Token Rate unless the model is exempt.

Legacy Cursor plans

Hobby, Start, Pro, Pro+, Ultra, and Teams Standard and Premium seats continue for existing customers. They keep two monthly usage pools—Cursor Models and Other Models—plus on-demand usage instead of the current prepaid top-up flow. They are not described as fully retired.

Legacy Teams seats created before The X Subscription use Standard at $40 / user / mo and Premium at $120 / user / mo (about 5× the Standard allowance on the docs). Those teams can keep adding and changing seats without switching; moving to The X Subscription is a separate unify flow on Cursor’s site.

Max Mode exists only on legacy request-based plans. It extends context beyond the default window and is billed at the model’s API rate plus 20%. Current X Subscription plans do not include Max Mode.

Pool mechanics, resets, and “what the limit banner means” are covered in more detail in How Cursor Usage Limits Work on The X Subscription and Legacy Plans (October 2026). Paying for Claude inside Cursor versus Claude Code’s own subscription is a different meter—see Claude Code and Cursor Both Run Claude, but Pay for It in Very Different Ways. What this page is not

This article is the Cursor / X Subscription seat and usage guide for October 2026. It is not a standalone xAI Grok API price list (Grok API is billed separately from the weekly Cursor-model pool). It is not a promise of fixed weekly dollar allowances—Cursor publishes Plus multiples and the Usage UI, not a public absolute quota table on the Models & Pricing page. Feature comparison details for Grok and X benefits live on cursor.com/pricing; model cells change, so the live docs apply. For reference only.
