On the Kimi platform models docs, under Retired models, a NOTE addresses current K2 users and new sign-ups. From October 31, 2026, K2 stops opening to new registered users. Already-registered users keep access under the wording on that page—this is not cutting off existing users overnight.
Separately, Kimi plans to take all K2-series models offline by late December, per the wording on that page. That is a planned end-of-year sunset, not a claim that every K2 endpoint is already gone.
Still on the live table
These IDs are still listed in the multimodal table (not in the retired table):
kimi-k2.6kimi-k2.7-codekimi-k2.7-code-highspeed
Older rows under retired models—such as the earlier kimi-k2 line (May 25, 2026) and kimi-k2.5 (August 31, 2026)—are separate past sunsets from this NOTE. The live-table K2.6/K2.7-code line is still listed; those earlier retired rows are not the same story.
Migration tips on the same page repeatedly point to the latest flagship kimi-k3.1-pro (the table also shows kimi-k3.1-pro-highspeed and prior-gen kimi-k3).
The “new registrant” boundary, migration compatibility, and whether late December stays put have not been tested on this site—for reference only. Checked results can go through the site-owner contact link in the footer.
