OpenCode said Beam is now available inside OpenCode, with a 1M context window, free for a limited time. The post went out on October 17 at 05:32 Beijing time. This is the model landing in OpenCode as a free Console option, not a new model launch. For the open weights and Mirror CLI release, see Reflection AI releases Beam 1.0, a 501B open coding model under Apache 2.0.
In the Console docs, the free tier shows up as Beam Free with the model ID beam-free, and every column in the price table is marked Free. OpenCode describes it as free for a limited time. It also says the provider does not use your data for model training and retains it for 30 days for safety reasons. That is different from several other free Console models that claim zero retention.
The same page lists regions where Beam Free is not available and says the docs carry the full list, including China (with Hong Kong and Macau) among others. The docs do not spell out a quota or an end date. After you connect an OpenCode Console key, pick it with /models, or point config at opencode/beam-free. OpenCode already has other limited-time free coding models on the same list, such as the one covered in OpenCode makes GLM 5.3 Flash free for a limited time.
