ChatGPT can now build presentations. OpenAI added Slides to the top of its ChatGPT release notes this week, and Tibo Sottiaux wrote on X at 08:15 Beijing time on October 17, "Also we just added slides support yesterday, try it out. Currently available in Pro, Business and Enterprise while we learn from your feedback." The same release notes also loosen a limit on ChatGPT Sites.

According to the release notes, Slides lets you create presentations and keep working on them with your team in Space. You can start from a conversation, files or an outline, or share an example deck to guide the style and layout. OpenAI says you can edit text, images, shapes and charts directly or ask ChatGPT to make the changes, invite teammates to edit the same deck in real time, and leave shared comments. Decks can be presented straight from ChatGPT. On the web they export to PowerPoint, PDF or Google Slides, and in the desktop app they open in PowerPoint or Keynote if those apps are installed.

OpenAI's wording on availability is that Slides "is rolling out to eligible Pro, Business, and Enterprise users with Space access on the web and in the desktop app." Plus isn't on that list. To start, OpenAI says to ask ChatGPT in Work to create a presentation in Space. Its Slides help article adds two limits at launch. On Windows machines without a required component, which OpenAI says Windows 10 doesn't support, the desktop app makes PowerPoint files rather than collaborative decks, and OpenAI points those users to cloud mode or the web. And there's no comment-only access yet. Neither the release notes nor the help article say whether making slides counts against any usage allowance.

The Sites change is shorter. Under the heading "Site limits (Plus and Pro)," the release notes say, "There is no longer a fixed limit on the number of Sites you can create. Usage and storage limits continue to apply." OpenAI's Sites help article adds that those limits are shared across all your Sites, so hitting one can stop you from creating a new Site even if it wouldn't use any storage. Each Site's database can hold up to 10 GB. OpenAI's Codex help article also says building or editing a Site counts toward Codex usage, so removing the cap on the number of Sites doesn't mean building them is free.
