Anthropic published Claude Code version 2.1.304 on GitHub at 05:34 Beijing time on October 20. The release notes highlight three user-facing changes and a long list of smaller fixes.

Auto mode setup

The notes say Claude Code now includes /auto-mode-setup, a guided setup that reads the project and recent sessions to teach auto mode about the environment. The same command is now also available on Bedrock, Vertex, Foundry, the Claude apps gateway and sessions with telemetry turned off.

Usage warning when resuming idle chats

On Pro and Max plans, Claude Code now warns when resuming an inactive conversation would use a noticeable share of the 5-hour usage limit. The notes say the choice is to resume anyway, or start a new conversation; Claude can look up the previous one if the user refers to it.

Code Review levels and org-wide review

For Code Review, owners can choose Quick, Standard (the default) or Deep for the organization, and can give individual repositories their own level. Admin settings also gain an option to review every repository in a GitHub organization, including ones added later, without selecting them one by one.

The rest of the release is mostly fixes and smaller improvements, covering sandbox and rm safety prompts, Remote Control, usage displays, VS Code startup timeouts and related issues.
