Dream Labs has come out of stealth and released Dream-1, which the company calls a World Action Model and a robot foundation model, through a public Dream API. Dream Labs' research page is dated October 2026. On X, Dream Labs posted the launch at 01:13 Beijing time on October 20, 2026. A Business Wire release dated October 19, 2026 says the company was founded in 2026 by former leads of NVIDIA's GR00T robotics research, the same researchers who created DreamZero.

Price and products

Dream Labs' research page lists Dream-1 at $3 per hour of hosted inference and Dream-1-flash at $2 per hour. The company says each API call returns 1.6 seconds of actions. Business Wire and Dream Labs describe three offerings: Dream API for connecting robots with grippers; Fine-tuning-as-a-Service for adapting the model with demonstration data; and a Robot Playground in San Francisco where users can type commands to a live robot in a browser.

What Dream Labs claims Dream-1 can do

Dream Labs says Dream-1 can control bimanual robots with parallel grippers that the model has never seen, on tasks and in places it was never shown, without fine-tuning or demonstrations from that robot. The research page frames zero-shot embodiment generalization as an early research result and says Dream-1 is a research beta that has not been validated for safety-critical use. Business Wire says Dream Labs works with more than 20 hardware partners and that Dream-1 currently handles tabletop tasks such as picking, placing and folding laundry, with wheeled mobile robots and dexterous hands to follow.

Funding

According to Business Wire, Dream Labs raised $90 million in seed funding led by B Capital along with Kindred Ventures, with participation from A.Capital, Unusual Ventures, SV Angel, Wing VC, Scribble VC, Adrian Aoun and others. Dream Labs' X thread says the team has 12 researchers and engineers and repeats the $90 million seed led by B Capital.

Robocurve scores

Ahead of launch, Dream Labs says Robocurve evaluated Dream-1 independently. On Robocurve's public RoboDojo-RC Tier 1 table, Dream-1 has a 59.3% mean score at about $0.15 per attempt, compared with 48.2% for Gemini 4 Argon (high) (priority) at about $2.34 per attempt. Dream Labs' X post rounds that comparison to 59 versus 48 and says Dream-1 is about 16 times cheaper than Gemini 4 Argon and about 1.7 times faster than GPT-6 Astra, citing the Robocurve results. Those figures are Robocurve's independent evaluation, not DigIntoAI's own tests.
