On October 27, 2026, the Google Cloud Blog said Gemini Robotics Embodied Reasoning 2 (ER 2) is now available in public preview on the Gemini platform (including Model Garden references in the same post). Related reading: Gemini 4 Argon is out globally — $2/$10 now, $4/$20 after November 30.
What ER 2 is for
Cloud and DeepMind frame ER 2 as a robot's high-level brain: spatial and temporal video understanding, long-horizon planning, built-in safety guardrails, multi-robot collaboration, and agentic tool orchestration—developers can declare low-level interfaces such as Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models, navigation APIs, or custom functions as tools, then stream multimodal video, audio, or text into the model. Motor execution stays with lower-level VLA stacks; ER 2 plans and orchestrates.

DeepMind's model page names Gemini Robotics ER 2 and states Public preview: Google AI Studio, Gemini API and Private preview: Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.
