OpenCode's 2.x line is at formal GitHub Release v2.2.5 as of October 31, 2026 (Beijing time; tag published 2026-10-30T23:17:23Z). Since v2.2.1, /goal can keep TUI or Desktop sessions working until review. 1.x hang-fix neighbor: OpenCode 1.19.5 Stops Failed TUI Worker Requests from Hanging.
From /goal to Claude Code login
v2.2.1 Release Highlights describe Keep Working Toward a Goal: run /goal <objective> in TUI or Desktop so a session keeps progressing until a reviewer confirms the objective is met, with /goal pause//goal resume//goal clear. Optionally enabling experimental.image_generate adds an image_generate tool (opt-in/experimental). Desktop defaults include a redesigned, searchable model picker and activity-pill shell stop.
v2.2.3 (Beijing 2026-10-30 17:55) adds a Claude subscription/Code path: install Claude Code, run claude auth login, then pick Claude Agent in /connect to use that login and models (https://github.com/anomalyco/opencode/releases/tag/v2.2.3). v2.2.4 (Beijing 2026-10-31 00:59) continues Desktop work such as persistent Desktop terminals. v2.2.5 highlights worktree/Shell Mode shortcuts, comment-popup quote send, and percentage compaction-buffer work, among other fixes (https://github.com/anomalyco/opencode/releases/tag/v2.2.5).
1.x ≠ 2.x track
Track split (required): npm package opencode-ai still lists latest = 1.19.5, with no 2.2.x package versions on that registry line. 1.x and 2.x remain separate; installs that follow opencode-ai@latest are not auto-moved to 2.x. GitHub formal releases on the 2.x line now run through v2.2.5.
Same-brand neighbors (different topics): OpenCode Users on Windows Should Update to 1.18.33, Security Firm Says, OpenCode Says a Security Incident Hit About 1.4% of Console Users, and OpenCode adds Beam with a 1M context, free for a limited time.
This brief is a 2.x feature/track note—not a CVE-style security advisory. Capability bounds follow the GitHub Releases for v2.2.3–v2.2.5 (and retained v2.2.1 /goal). For reference only.
