For remote sessions, yes. ZCode 3.16.2, released on October 20, 2026, adds resident processes for remote sessions, and ZCode's official changelog says a local disconnect no longer affects the remote session. The entry covers remote sessions only.

The changelog doesn't explain the rest. It doesn't say which machine the resident process runs on, how long it stays up, or whether it costs extra. We haven't tested the feature.

The same release fixes a related bug in which network interruptions were misreported as the remote environment not meeting requirements.

It also includes two security fixes. One fixes a security issue in which local files could be read out of bounds on Windows. The other fixes an issue in which connection logs could leak sensitive information. The changelog gives no CVE numbers or impact scope for either, and we recommend upgrading to 3.16.2.

Other changes in 3.16.2 include remote device management in settings, account sign-in for phone remote control, a plugin marketplace, tool search, and support for MiMo models through both the API and token plans.
