Fabric Data Agent Upgrade and Foundry Migration Checklist (November 2026)
November 2026 brings two separate Fabric Data Agent windows. Nov 2–10: Advanced NL2SQL, advanced DAX, and GPT-5.6 Terra reach the standard runtime (no opt-in); SQL Schema descriptions / topics stay preview. From Nov 6, 2026, migrate Foundry off the custom tool to Fabric IQ (OneLake Catalog) (Preview)—no longer supported. We haven't tested each tenant. Fabric / Foundry builders only. For reference only.
Microsoft Copilot Harness Lands in Foundry Agent Service Preview
Foundry blog (Oct 28, 2026): Copilot harness in Foundry Agent Service public preview, not harness GA. Microsoft runs the agent loop and sandbox; agents defined declaratively. Same harness underpins Copilot Code, Studio, GitHub Copilot app, CLI, VS Code via Foundry. Preview: skills, Foundry/MCP tools, files and subagents, source-controlled definitions. Same day, hosted-agent resilience is GA, not a harness GA. Runtime free before Dec 1, 2026; then ~$0.0994/vCPU-hr · $0.0118/GiB-hr; models still bill. Learn: regional subset; BYOM unsupported. Azure Foundry ≠ VS Code harness. For reference only.
MAI Cyber 1.1 Flash: About 18% Lower Scan Cost Inside MDASH
On October 27, 2026, Microsoft AI’s blog announced MAI Cyber 1.1 Flash inside MDASH. Versus MAI Cyber 1 Flash: comparable performance and 18% less cost per scan on an internal MDASH vulnerability-scanning evaluation suite. Available through MDASH to verified customers (new profile or request access)—not public GA. Separately on X, Mustafa Suleyman said MAI Cyber adoption in the security harness doubled to 50% in 30 days and is 20% more token efficient without sacrificing quality. For reference only.
