Cline posted on X at about 04:38 Beijing time on October 21 about a Goal plugin for Cline Desktop. The point is to keep Cline working on a task until the work is verified complete, instead of stopping early.

Install happens in Cline Desktop under Customize, then Marketplace, then Plugins: install Goal and use the /goal slash command. The plugin adds that command plus an afterRun lifecycle hook that nudges Cline to verify its work. Only after that verification can Cline call the plugin's custom mark_goal_complete tool to finish the task.

Cline also notes that plugins are TypeScript files that extend Desktop capabilities with slash commands, custom tools, lifecycle hooks such as beforeTool and afterRun, and dynamic rules.
