Google’s official blog dated October 28, 2026 announced a preview of the Connected Apps Platform: a single place for developers to build and manage Connected Apps for Search and the Gemini app. That is a preview with phased access, not generally available. Documentation and signup are on Google’s Connected Apps developer site.
Build once; choose Search and/or Gemini
Developers integrate with a cloud-hosted MCP server or Android MCP using the AppFunctions APIs, then use the Google Connected Console to register, test, and submit. Before review, developers choose whether the app goes live in Search, the Gemini app, or both. Once live, traffic, latency, and error rates are trackable, and brand identity (verified logos and authenticated accounts) stays under developer control. Google says access opens in phases, with more developers, markets, and Google products over the coming months.
Partner apps: Gemini now, Search next for some
Google says more than 50 Connected Apps are already live across Search and Gemini. Integrations with partners such as Adobe, Experian, Localiza, and Peloton are live in Gemini, and Google expects to bring those Connected Apps to Search in the coming weeks, so Gemini availability is not the same as Search already being fully rolled out for those partners. Among other apps, a new Calm integration is planned across both Search and Gemini.
Connector-style neighbors on this site: ChatGPT Adds iCloud Mail and Calendar Plugins; MCP task wiring in coding agents: Claude Code Adds MCP Tasks and Mid-Job User Prompts; another MCP publish path: Framer MCP Connects Claude, Codex, and Cursor — Publish Still Needs a Go-Ahead.
For the Connected Apps Platform preview, DigIntoAI has not yet registered an app in Connected Console, submitted via cloud MCP or Android AppFunctions, or verified partner Search rollouts.
