OpenAI’s official blog dated October 28, 2026 says OpenAI and ServiceNow are expanding their partnership so more models and agents run inside ServiceNow products, and ServiceNow workflows connect with ChatGPT and Codex. The post builds on a partnership announced in January. ChatGPT side: context and actions
A new ServiceNow integration brings business context and workflow actions into ChatGPT, so teams can investigate issues and take the next step in the same conversation: for example finding similar incidents, assessing change risk, or updating a ServiceNow record without leaving ChatGPT. Customers connect ChatGPT to their own ServiceNow instance and choose which capabilities to enable. ServiceNow’s Action Fabric applies existing business rules and permissions, so allowed actions follow the organization’s configuration. ServiceNow is also previewing interactive experiences inside ChatGPT, such as an on-call engineer reviewing linked alerts, recent changes, and affected services before assigning a team.
ServiceNow products planned with OpenAI
OpenAI and ServiceNow also plan new work in three areas: application development (a planned Codex integration in ServiceNow’s AI Workflow Factory, plus OpenAI models powering Build Agent and Autonomous Engineer); cybersecurity (a joint security solution combining OpenAI capabilities with ServiceNow asset, identity, and business context); and voice (an OpenAI-powered experience in ServiceNow’s Super Intelligence Control Tower that lets people describe an AI use case aloud).
Availability: what is live vs later
The ServiceNow MCP plugin is available in the OpenAI marketplace today. Enhanced capabilities are expected by the end of 2026. Marketplace availability does not mean every capability below is generally available. Voice in the Super Intelligence Control Tower is expected in Q1 2027. OpenAI-powered security capabilities are expected to enter early access in January 2027, with general availability planned for Q2 2027. Codex in AI Workflow Factory is expected in 2027. Those 2027 items are not shipped yet.
ChatGPT Work and Codex for ServiceNow employees
ServiceNow plans to give all employees access to ChatGPT Work and Codex, expanding beyond engineering. That is a stated plan, not DigIntoAI confirmation that every employee already has access.
