GitHub Design Open-Sources Replica for AI Prototyping
GitHub’s Changelog dated October 28, 2026 says GitHub Design is open-sourcing Replica, an AI prototyping tool, under the MIT license, available now. Unlike generic tools, Replica uses a team’s existing components, patterns, and documentation to guide generation. Designers define guidance; anyone can use natural language in the GitHub Copilot app to create and refine interactive prototypes that match how the product works. An optional self-hosted Replica Hub lets teammates browse and comment. Repository: github.com/github/replica. For reference only.
