At 02:00:35 Asia/Shanghai on 2026-11-06—matching the @claudeai public posts timed 2026-11-05T18:00:35Z—Anthropic introduced Personal Finance in Claude. The official resource article is dated November 5, 2026 (calendar day only; no finer byline time). The pitch is straightforward: instead of opening every banking app to add up balances and bills, selected bank and card accounts can be connected inside Claude and asked about in everyday language. Access is read-only. Claude cannot move, manage, or invest money. DigIntoAI has not walked a Plaid link, not compared dashboard figures to bank statements, and not timed sync delays—the details below are drawn from the official resource article, the Help Center, and the public posts as self-reported.

The Advisors piece is a separate B2B connectors-and-skills product for licensed advisors—not today’s consumer beta. Pro vs Max and Pricing sit beside the plan names named here; Auto Mode is a nearby consumer-app surface note. None of those four articles is a Personal Finance rollout piece, and none is the same product shipping today.
What shipped in the public posts
The root @claudeai post frames a US beta: connect chosen accounts, and Claude answers money questions in everyday language from balances and transactions. Access is read-only; Claude cannot move, manage, or invest money. A roughly 91-second official demo video is attached—that clip is Anthropic’s demonstration, not a DigIntoAI hands-on recording. The same-second follow-up post adds three guardrails that match the resource article: Personal Finance has no ads or sponsored recommendations; it helps people understand money and isn’t designed to give investment advice; and it is rolling out gradually in the US on the Pro, Max, and Ultra plans, with a link to the resource article.
What the feature claims to do
The official resource article walks through example questions—where money went this month, whether spending looks higher than usual, what remains before payday, whether anything looks off (duplicate charges, unexpected fees, a bill that crept up), what an APR is and how much interest was paid this year. Answers can include category totals, comparisons to prior months, a weekly spending chart, a calendar of upcoming payments, or an adjustable dashboard of chosen figures. Sample dollar amounts in that article (for example $4,309.37 total spending, $1,024.51 on food and drink, $1,393.22 left before payday) are examples from the official resource article, not DigIntoAI tallies. We haven't tested whether live accounts produce similar breakdowns.
The Help Center broadens the connectable list beyond the resource article’s “bank and card” framing: bank, credit card, loan, and investment accounts can be linked so balances and spending sit on one page. That wider list does not turn Claude into a brokerage or loan manager. On investments, loans, and cards, Claude reads balances and credit limits, not holdings, trades, rates, or terms—even when Plaid’s own screens also ask for consent to share investment, credit, and loan data. Today, Claude reads only the field types listed in the Help Center.
Read-only access, Plaid, and visible fields
Accounts connect only after a person signs into the bank through Plaid (a service that links apps to banks), agrees to Plaid’s terms, and approves Claude’s read-only access. Claude does not ask for or see bank passwords. For accounts that were chosen to share—and only those—Claude can see the bank name; each account’s name, type, and last four digits; balances and credit limits; and about two years of transactions (the Help Center states up to 24 months, including amount, date, merchant, category, and the bank’s description). Those two official phrasings are equivalent; DigIntoAI has not independently measured retention windows. Plaid typically passes only the last few digits of an account number; if a bank embeds a full number in an account name or transaction description, Claude may see it there.
Inside the Personal Finance hub, conversations are not used to train Anthropic’s models. Content shared with Claude outside the hub still follows the account’s privacy settings. Accounts can be unlinked at any time; after unlink, Claude can no longer see that account’s data. Up to 16 banks can be linked; at the cap, one bank must be unlinked before another can be added. Balances may lag a day or two. Claude can make mistakes—important figures should be checked against the bank’s own app or statements. DigIntoAI has not verified lag or double-count edge cases.
Who gets it—and who does not
Personal Finance starts rolling out in beta this week on Pro, Max, and Ultra in the US. The Help Center states availability on Claude (web), Claude Desktop, Claude for iOS, and Claude for Android, and that the feature isn’t available on Free, Team, or Enterprise. Rollout is gradual, so the sidebar entry may not appear yet. Only US banks can be linked. Connected accounts are not for scheduled tasks, Cowork tasks, or Claude Code, and may be unavailable inside a project; Personal Finance is not in Claude Duet. Those limits come from the Help Center; the resource article names Pro/Max/Ultra without listing the Free/Team/Enterprise exclusions.
What’s next (roadmap, not a live advisor product)
Anthropic calls Personal Finance a first step. For larger money decisions, the company says people are best served when Claude works alongside licensed professionals and regulated firms they trust, and that it is exploring how to make that possible inside Claude while inviting banks, wealth managers, and financial-services firms to help shape it. That sentence describes exploration ahead, not a live advisor marketplace, and not a claim that the on-site Claude for Financial Advisors product received a same-day consumer-finance mega-update.
In short
Claude’s Personal Finance US beta lets Pro/Max/Ultra accounts connect selected US bank (and, per Help Center, card/loan/investment) accounts through Plaid, ask natural-language money questions, and get read-only answers—with no transfers, no investment advice, no ads, and no Anthropic-branded credit products. Hub chats stay out of training. We haven't tested the link flow, category accuracy, or balance freshness; treat the resource article, Help Center, and @claudeai posts as the source of record until independent checks land.
