Tibo, Head of Codex and ChatGPT, has executed a Codex usage reset. Unlike previous runs, he did not post a preview beforehand — he ran the reset first, then shared the details publicly.

According to his post, he had already shipped four features that received good to great feedback, alongside related math proof capabilities. After a community vote, the results made clear that users wanted a usage reset. He calibrated the rules himself and said that *seemingly*, the current rule setup favors a reset for users — but those are the rules for now.

He also shared a roundup of updates from the second day: auto-review (approve for me) is now included, does not consume extra usage, and typically takes up 2-10% of a user’s plan when active, making the experience better for users. A simplified API for builders was also part of that update batch.

He confirmed in his post that the reset has been processed, and told users to enjoy. The specific scope of what this reset covers is not detailed in the original materials.
