Valve's Answer to AI Slop and Clone Games on Steam: We Won't Police Developers' Tools
At Steam Indie Connect in Korea, Valve staff addressed AI slop and clone games head-on: no gatekeeping on AI tools, and the best defense against clones is community and steady updates.

Newest publishedGemini Can Export Interactive Apps to Google Sites
Google’s October 19, 2026 Workspace Updates note says you can export interactive apps built in the Gemini app to Google Sites. Export creates a new private site draft that keeps the interactivity; you then edit, publish, and share like any other Site. Available now on web, Android, and iOS for Workspace, Workspace Individual, and personal accounts with Gemini access—if Sites is on and you can create/edit. The post does not promise two-way auto-sync with Gemini after export.
OpenAI Habitat: Storage Reads ~12x Faster — Not ChatGPT Answers
OpenAI’s October 23, 2026 engineering post (Part II) says Habitat’s global read p50 fell from roughly 120 ms to roughly 10 ms—about 12×—after placement near users where capacity allows, broad replication of small latency-sensitive data, Valkey lookaside cache with CDC invalidation, and a Rust service rewrite. That figure is storage-read median latency for Habitat, not model inference, full ChatGPT answers, every request, or tail latency. A custom exabyte-scale online store (RocksDB Cloud plus Raft) is still under construction and does not replace Cosmos/Habitat yet.
IQuest Opens Q1: 320B/15B MoE for Claude Code and Codex
IQuest Research has released IQuest-Q1, an open sparse Mixture-of-Experts model with about 320B total parameters and about 15B activated per token, aimed at agentic CLI and coding work. Context length is 524,288 tokens (512K). The website and Hugging Face card show SGLang and vLLM serving paths, plus examples for Claude Code and Codex CLI. Benchmark numbers are the project’s reported scores—not our measurements—and the card calls out text-only input and early-stage limits.
GitHub Copilot Usage Metrics Now Count OpenCode and Other Clients
GitHub’s Changelog says the Copilot usage metrics API now reports model usage from tools outside the IDE, including OpenCode. A new totals_by_client array appears in enterprise, organization, enterprise-user, and organization-user 1-day and 28-day reports. Server-side request counts close the gap left when those tools do not send editor telemetry. This is a governance and visibility update—not the same story as Copilot turning Teams notifications into fixes and PRs.
Hi3D 1.0 Is Open Source: Image-to-3D, Formerly Sparc3D
Hi3D has open-sourced Hi3D 1.0—formerly Sparc3D—a high-resolution geometry refinement model that turns a reference image plus a coarse mesh into denser 3D geometry. Inference code and weights are on GitHub and Hugging Face under the Hi3D Open License Agreement v1.0, not Apache. Commercial products that cross 200,000 monthly active users or USD 1,000,000 in monthly revenue need a separate written license, and commercial integrations must show “Powered by Hi3D 1.0.”
GitHub Copilot in Teams Turns Notifications into Fixes and PRs
GitHub’s Changelog says the new GitHub app in Microsoft Teams brings notifications and Copilot together. When an issue lands in a channel, group chat, or private chat, you can @mention GitHub to investigate, fix the bug, and open a pull request—without leaving the conversation. The legacy GitHub app will be renamed “GitHub (deprecated)” and retired on November 16, 2026.
Hunyuan Opens Hy-Nomas: Interactive Video World Model on a 4090
Tencent Hunyuan has open-sourced Hy-Nomas, a free-form interactive video world model. Users can steer successive video segments with text instructions and camera trajectories, with a persistent world memory across turns. Weights and code are under Apache-2.0 on GitHub and Hugging Face, with an official website and interactive demo. A single RTX 4090 path exists as a low-memory configuration—it is not the same as the standard eight-GPU setup.
General Reasoning Opens Avalon-M1 Preview and RLCR Training Recipe
London lab General Reasoning has published reinforcement learning from collective rewards (RLCR)—a recipe that jointly trains a CEO and specialists on one shared collective advantage—and a preview of Avalon-M1-Mini, still in training. The Mini build is about 120B parameters with 12B active, post-trained from the Nemotron 3 Super base. Model weights, harness, and environments are not released yet; the official roadmap lists those for later. Safety evaluations on the official page and technical report say refusal of harmful actions stays near-universal while reporting to human overseers declines
Atria Dawn Formal Weights Are Out: 512K Context on Hugging Face
Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory has published formal open weights for Atria Dawn on Hugging Face (internlm/Atria-Dawn), with an FP8 sibling. The formal release lists a 512K context window, versus 256K for the earlier Preview. The model card describes a research- and engineering-oriented agent built on the GLM-5.2 MoE foundation—it is not a new Zhipu GLM generation under another name. Weights are text-only and very large on disk; that file size is not a minimum VRAM figure.
xAI Opens the SpaceX Super Intelligence Partner Network
xAI introduced the SpaceX Super Intelligence Partner Network (SpaceXSI)—its official program for companies building products, solutions, and services with Grok for joint prospects and customers. Two tracks: Transformation Partners help deploy Grok across the enterprise; Marketplace Partners build plugins and product integrations. More than 130 companies joined early access. Training, tools, and support are part of the program; apply via the partners page.
AWS Opens Infinity, a Research Runtime for Extreme Agent Concurrency
AWS released Infinity under Apache 2.0 as part of Hydro with UC Berkeley. The research runtime suspends an agent during a tool call, persists the conversation, and resumes when the result arrives—so an idle agent mostly costs its history, and a serverless function can end while it waits. AWS’s own blog benchmarks cite about 100 KB per idle agent and about 75,000 concurrent agents in 8 GB. Early research release seeking feedback, not production GA. Separate from OpenAI Agents API scheduled automations.
Replit Monitoring Agent Can Investigate, Fix and Auto-Publish Production Issues
Replit introduced Monitoring Agent—an autonomous on-call for published apps. It can read production logs and metrics, investigate an alert, make and validate a fix, and email a summary. With auto-publish on, it can deploy a validated fix to production. Earlier App Monitoring covered health checks and downtime alerts; this release adds the fix-and-ship step. Enable monitoring alerts and auto-fix in Publishing settings; auto-publish is optional. Separate from Replit Agent’s default model choice.
